Day Two of Camp

As is usually the case, my writing session yesterday brought some surprises. They were mostly minor and didn’t have that much of an effect on the plot. Todd has a secretary. This isn’t really a surprise, just something I hadn’t thought about. I do need to name her . . . or him. At the moment the secretary is a she, but nothing says Todd can’t have a male secretary. Although I think there is a different word for it regardless of gender, administrative assistant or something such as that.

I think I like the word secretary better. It makes me think of writing and I like writing.

I will have to look it up at some point to make sure that the correct word is in the draft when I am ready to pass it on for editing.

Yesterday I ended up with 2,063 words. With my goal of 50,000 words by the end of the month, I have to write 1,613 words every day to make my goal, so that puts me a little ahead.

Today the plan is to write about a meeting between Todd and his brother, Graham. Graham is a character that I need to do a lot of work on. At the moment he simply knows too much. He has the ability to see the potential future (and sometimes the definite future) of things and that is an ability that is easy to abuse, so I need to be careful.

If you had the ability to see the future like Graham, both the good and the bad, would you want it and what would you do about what you saw?
