Dialogue Prompt – I’m a Lady, Not a Fool

It’s time for our daily prompt. This one is a dialogue prompt that I found on Pinterest. I wasn’t expecting this, but as soon as I saw it, I knew I had to share it. I hope you find it as interesting as I do.

Finding this prompt definitely caught my attention. A mixture of prim and proper and deadly, the speaking character here would definitely make an interesting addition to any cast. She may or may not fit in to what you are doing, but she most definitely would be interesting.

The person who is speaking is definitely female, but that doesn’t mean you have to keep with that. Lady or gentleman, this person was raised to understand and move through high society. She, or he if you choose, also has a rather unusual addition to her upbringing. She doesn’t say that her momma taught her what artery to stick a fork in to kill someone, but it seems to be implied that her momma either did or she was aware of her daughter learning.

So what kind of person is she? This could be an empty threat or a statement of fact just as easily as it can be a legitimate threat or statement of intent. Who is she talking to? Someone obviously said or did something that lead to her saying this. Is she talking to a friend about her upbringing? Maybe this is to a rival who thinks she can beat her. Or did someone make a wrong move and she’s warning them to do so, again, will be the last move they ever make. And don’t forget, just because she believes she can succeed doesn’t mean she will.

Forewarned is forearmed after all. Do you think she can or would follow through on this? How would you use a character like her?
